In calendar year 2014, the brand sold 28.4 million cases, higher than any other spirit brand in the world. Compared to the other Indian whiskies which are mainly made from molasses (therefore technically making them rums), OC is made from grain.

Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD) is an Indian alcohol company headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is one of the largest alcohol companies in India, with a portfolio of over 50 brands, including whisky, rum, brandy, vodka, and beer.
ABD was founded in 1988 by a group of entrepreneurs led by Tilaknagar Bhupathi Raj. The company started by producing and selling whisky, and quickly expanded its portfolio to include other alcoholic beverages.
