Officer’s Choice, commonly known as OC, is an Indian whisky brand which is owned by Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD), formerly BDA. It is considered to be one of the largest spirit brands in the world. In 2015 Officer’s Choice overtook Smirnoff vodka to become the world’s largest-selling spirit brand. In calendar year 2014, the brand sold 28.4 million cases, higher than any other spirit brand in the world. Compared to the other Indian whiskies which are mainly made from molasses (therefore technically making them rums), OC is made from grain.

Distillery
Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD) is an Indian alcohol company headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is one of the largest alcohol companies in India, with a portfolio of over 50 brands, including whisky, rum, brandy, vodka, and beer.
ABD was founded in 1988 by a group of entrepreneurs led by Tilaknagar Bhupathi Raj. The company started by producing and selling whisky, and quickly expanded its portfolio to include other alcoholic beverages.
In 1999, ABD acquired the Bangalore-based brewery Mysore Breweries, which gave it a foothold in the beer market. The company also entered into joint ventures with several international alcohol companies, including Diageo and Bacardi.
Today, ABD is a leading player in the Indian alcohol market. Its brands are known for their quality and affordability. The company is also a major exporter of alcoholic beverages, with products sold in over 20 countries.
